Huawei: Adjust the Text Size on Your Display

If small letters make you squint or large text pushes words off the screen, the font size on your Huawei is set wrong for your eyes. EMUI lets you scale text independently from icons and layout, but many people never find the right slider. Getting the size wrong also throws off how much content fits on a single screen.

Change Text Size auf Huawei

Text that is too small forces you to hold your phone closer or zoom into every app. Text that is too large cuts off menu items and message previews. Both issues come from a single system setting that controls font scaling across EMUI.

Font size is separate from display resolution and screen zoom, so changing it does not shrink icons or app layouts. It only affects how large letters render inside text fields, notifications, and most system menus. Some apps with their own fixed fonts may not follow this setting.

Menu path to change text size

Open Open the settingsTap onDisplay & brightnessTap on Text and display sizePull the bar left or right to fit the font size you want.

Move the slider right to enlarge text, left to shrink it. The preview at the top of the screen updates live, so you can check readability before leaving the menu. If text still looks wrong inside a specific app afterward, check that app's own display settings instead, since some apps override the system font scale.

Frequently asked questions

Some apps use a fixed font size that ignores the system setting under Display & brightnessText and display size. Check that app's internal settings for a separate text size option.
