Clean Up Storage auf Huawei
Storage on Huawei phones fills up faster than expected because EMUI stores several types of hidden data in the background. Junk data comes from temporary files apps leave behind. Cache data builds up from apps loading images, previews and login sessions. App data includes downloads, offline content and saved files inside individual apps. Misc data covers everything else the system cannot clearly assign, often leftovers from uninstalled apps.
None of this data is required for your apps to keep working. EMUI scans your storage and calculates which of these categories can be safely removed, then presents a suggested clean up instead of forcing you to sort through files manually.
How to run the clean up
Go to Open the settings ➔ Tap on Storage ➔ Tap on Clean up ➔ Choose a suggested clean up and tap on Clean up. The system groups the detected files by category and shows the total space you can recover before you confirm anything.
Running this clean up regularly prevents slowdowns during app updates and stops low-storage warnings from appearing. It does not touch your photos, videos or documents, since those are managed separately from junk, cache and app data.
If storage is still low after cleaning up, check which apps take up the most space individually rather than repeating the clean up, since large media files or rarely used apps are the more likely cause at that point.
