Huawei: Create a New Album in Gallery

Scrolling through hundreds of unsorted pictures in the Huawei Gallery app makes it hard to find specific shots fast. Without separate albums, vacation photos, screenshots and everyday snaps all pile up in one long timeline, and older memories get buried within days.

Create a Photo Album auf Huawei

The Huawei Gallery app stores every photo and video in one continuous timeline by default. Without a dedicated album structure, older shots get buried within days, especially on phones that shoot frequently in burst mode or save screenshots automatically.

Creating a separate album groups related pictures under one label, independent of when they were taken. This works locally through the Gallery app itself and does not require cloud sync or a third-party app.

Menu path

Open Gallery app ➔ tap on Add album ➔ enter a name, choose storage on Device or Memory card and tap OK. From here you can tap Quit to leave the empty album for later, or choose an album to add photos directly.

To fill the album afterwards, select one or more photos, tap Save, then choose whether to Copy or Move them. Copying keeps the originals in the main timeline. Moving removes them from there and leaves only the album copy.

Pick Move if you want a cleaner main gallery. Pick Copy if the same photo should stay visible in the general timeline as well as in the themed album.

Frequently asked questions

Copy keeps the original photo in the main Gallery timeline and adds a duplicate to the album. Move removes the photo from the timeline and stores it only inside the album.
