Delete an Album in Gallery auf Huawei
Deleting an album in the Gallery app on Huawei phones does not just remove a folder. Every photo and video stored inside that album is deleted along with it, so the action only makes sense once those files are safely backed up elsewhere, such as a cloud service, a PC or a laptop.
The Gallery app also connects to your cloud gallery when sync is turned on. That is why the deletion dialog includes a separate option for cloud content. If you leave Also delete from Cloud gallery and synced albums enabled, the album disappears from every synced device. Disabling it keeps the cloud copy intact while removing the album only from local storage.
Steps to delete an album
Open the Gallery app ➔ Tap and hold an album ➔ Tap on Delete ➔ Enable or disable Also delete from Cloud gallery and synced albums and confirm with Delete.
If storage space is the only goal and the photos are already backed up, deleting the album is the quickest fix. If you are unsure whether a backup exists, check the cloud gallery first, since a confirmed deletion cannot be undone from the device itself.
