Huawei: Delete a Downloaded Theme

If the Themes section on your Huawei phone is packed with old designs you tried once and forgot about, finding the one you actually use gets tedious. Every downloaded theme keeps taking up storage and clutters the 'Me' tab until you remove it by hand.

Delete a Theme auf Huawei

Themes on Huawei phones pile up quickly, especially if you tried several designs from the Themes store before settling on one. Every downloaded theme stays stored on the device even after you stop using it, and keeps showing up in the theme list under the Me tab.

Deleting a theme is different from simply switching to another one. Applying a new design in Home screen & wallpaperThemes only changes the active look, it does not free any storage or remove the old theme from the list.

To actually remove a theme, open SettingsHome screen & wallpaperThemesMeThemes. Tap and hold the theme you want to get rid of, tap Delete, then confirm with Delete again.

The theme currently applied to your Home screen usually cannot be deleted right away. Switch to a different theme first, then remove the one you no longer want from the list.

Frequently asked questions

Not directly. Switch to a different theme in Home screen & wallpaperThemes first, then go back to MeThemes to delete the previous one.
