Show Network Speed in Status Bar auf Huawei
The network speed indicator sits in the status bar, right next to the notch or camera cutout. It shows the current transfer rate in real time, but only while data is actively moving.
EMUI calculates this value from the active connection, whether that is mobile data or Wi-Fi. Idle phases with no downloads, streaming, or background syncing show no number, since there is nothing to measure.
To turn the display on or off, open Open the settings ➔ Tap on Display & brightness ➔ Tap on More display settings ➔ Activate or deactivate Display network speed. The toggle applies system-wide and covers both mobile data and Wi-Fi connections.
This indicator is useful for spotting a slow connection before a download stalls or a video buffers. It is not a full speed test and will not replace a dedicated bandwidth checker, since it only reflects the traffic your phone is currently generating.
If the number stays at zero even during a download, check that the app you are using is actually transferring data in the foreground, since background restrictions can throttle some apps and keep the value low.
