Enable Full-Screen Display for Apps auf Huawei
Huawei phones use a taller screen ratio than many older apps were designed for. When an app's layout was built for a 16:9 screen, EMUI cannot stretch it across the full display without risking distorted buttons or overlapping menus. Instead of forcing a broken layout automatically, EMUI lists these apps as not optimized and leaves the decision to you.
The control for this sits under Open the settings ➔ Tap on Display & brightness ➔ Tap on More display settings ➔ Tap on Full-Screen Display. This screen lists every app EMUI has flagged, each with its own toggle. Switching an app on removes the black bars top and bottom, but some interface elements can shift position once the layout stretches.
Test the app right after switching it on. If buttons get cut off, text overlaps, or a game's touch zones no longer match what you see, go back to Tap on Full-Screen Display and turn that app off again. Full-screen mode only changes how content fills the display - it does not fix crashes, lag, or missing features inside the app itself.
