Enable or Disable Google Voice Typing auf Huawei
Google voice typing is a speech-to-text input method built into the Android keyboard layer. On Huawei phones running EMUI it sits inside the language and input settings rather than inside the keyboard app itself, which is why it often gets overlooked.
The feature listens to your voice and converts it into text wherever you are typing, from messages to notes to search bars. It relies on the microphone and, depending on the language pack, on an active internet connection for processing.
To switch it on or off, open Settings ➔ System & updates ➔ Languages & input ➔ Enable or disable Google voice typing ➔ Confirm with OK.
After a restart, the phone needs to be unlocked once before this input method becomes selectable again. If you skip that step, the microphone icon on the keyboard may look inactive or simply not respond to taps.
Disabling the feature removes the microphone shortcut from the keyboard but does not affect the physical keyboard layout or other typing options. If voice typing still does not react after following these steps, check that microphone permission for the keyboard app is granted and that your internet connection is stable.
