Hide an Album in Gallery auf Huawei
On Huawei phones running EMUI, the Gallery app shows every album you created directly on the main screen. Once you add several albums for trips, screenshots, or work files, that overview gets crowded fast.
Hiding an album does not delete or move any photo. It only removes the album tile from the default Gallery view, so your everyday shots stay easy to find while rarely-used collections stop cluttering the screen.
Where to find the option
Open Gallery, then tap Open the menu. From there select Hide albums and choose the album you want to remove from view.
This works for any album you created yourself, including ones synced through backup or transfer tools. System albums that the phone manages automatically may behave differently and are not always eligible for hiding.
If you need the album back on the main screen later, the same menu lets you unhide it without any data loss. Nothing about the photos themselves changes during this process.
Use this feature when an album is only needed occasionally, for example seasonal photos or documents you scan once a year. For photos you want to keep private from anyone else using the phone, check whether your model also offers a separate private space or lock option, since hiding only affects the Gallery overview and not app-level access.
