Huawei: Turn Private Browsing On or Off in the Browser

Private mode in the Huawei browser is a session setting, not a system-wide privacy tool. It only changes how the browser app handles tabs, history and cookies while it is active, and everything is cleared automatically once you close all private tabs.

To switch it on or off, open Open the Browser app ➔ Open the menu ➔ Enable or disable Private mode. The interface turns darker so you can see at a glance that Private mode is running, which helps avoid mixing up private and normal tabs by accident.

Once enabled, new tabs will not save entries to your browsing history, autofill data, or search suggestions. Cookies from private sessions are also discarded as soon as you close the tabs, which is useful for logging into a second account or checking prices without affecting personalized results.

Private mode does not encrypt your connection or hide your activity from your internet provider, employer network, or the websites themselves. If that level of protection is what you actually need, a VPN or a browser with built-in tracker blocking is the better fix.

One side effect worth knowing: bookmarks and downloads you add during a private session are usually kept, since these are stored outside the temporary browsing data that gets deleted.
