Huawei: Install Apps from the Google Play Store

Installing apps outside the Play Store usually means downloading an APK file from a website. That method skips the security checks that Google runs on every app before it becomes available in the store, so malware or outdated code can slip through unnoticed.

To install an app the safe way on your Huawei phone, open Open the Play Store ➔ Tap on the search bar ➔ Enter the name and select a suggestion ➔ Tap on Install. The app downloads and installs itself, and you can open it directly from the store or from your home screen afterward.

An APK install can still make sense if an app is not listed in the Play Store for your region or device, but that comes with the risk of missing security patches and no automatic updates.
