Automatic Overnight Update Installation auf Huawei
Huawei phones separate two update steps: downloading a software update and actually installing it. The Update overnight option controls only the second step, letting the phone install an already downloaded update automatically while it sits unused, typically late at night.
This matters because installing an update always triggers a restart. If Update overnight is enabled, that restart happens on its own schedule instead of interrupting you during the day. If it is disabled, the phone still notifies you about a ready update, but waits for you to confirm the install manually.
To change this behavior, go to Open the Settings ➔ Tap on System & updates ➔ Tap on Software update ➔ Open the Settings ➔ Enable or disable Update overnight.
Enable it if you rarely use your phone at night and want updates handled without any action from you. Disable it if you charge the phone overnight for alarms, notifications, or calls, and an unexpected restart could cause you to miss something. Disabling this setting does not stop update downloads, it only removes the automatic install step.
