Set Location Access for Apps auf Huawei
Location permission on Huawei phones is not an all-or-nothing switch. Each app gets its own setting, and the system decides based on that setting whether the app can read your GPS position at all, only while it is open, or never.
EMUI offers three levels: Allow all the time, Allow only while using the app, and a full block. Apps that need directions while running in the background, like navigation tools, usually need the first option. Apps that only show your position once, like a camera app tagging photos, work fine with the second.
To check or change this, open Open the settings ➔ Tap on Location ➔ Tap on Location ➔ Choose an app ➔ Allow or deny location access for the app. From there you switch between the three options for that specific app.
Setting an app to Allow all the time when it does not need constant tracking can drain the battery faster and lets the app collect location data even when you are not using it. If you notice unusual battery use or unexpected location prompts, review this setting first before assuming a hardware problem.
