Enable or Disable Location Tag auf Huawei
Huawei phones running EMUI keep the location tag switched off by default. That means every photo or video you take is stored without GPS coordinates, so you cannot later search or sort your gallery by place. Turning the tag on writes the current location into the file metadata at the moment you press the shutter.
The setting sits inside the camera app itself, not in the general system settings. To change it, open Open Camera ➔ Open the settings ➔ Activate or deactivate location tag. Toggling it on applies to every photo and video you take afterward, not retroactively to older files already saved in your gallery.
Keep in mind that this feature relies on your phone's location service being active in the background. If location access is denied for the camera app system-wide, the tag will stay empty even when the setting inside the camera looks enabled. Check that location permissions for the camera are allowed if tagged photos still show no place data after switching this on.
Disable the tag again if you share images often and want to avoid embedding your location in files sent to others. Many messaging and cloud apps strip this metadata automatically, but not all of them do.
