On Huawei phones running EMUI, the dialer, call log and contacts all live inside a single Phone app, so the exact spot for entering a number is not always obvious if you are coming from a different Android interface.
To place a call, follow this path: Open the Phone app ➔ Enter a phone number ➔ Tap on the green phone icon. The keypad accepts full numbers including country codes, and EMUI shows a live match from your saved contacts as you type, which helps you confirm you dialed the right person before connecting.
