Mark All Messages as Read auf Huawei
On a Huawei phone running EMUI, every conversation in the Messages app carries its own read status. That flag only changes when you open a chat or tell the system to clear it manually, which is why the unread count keeps piling up if messages arrive faster than you can check them.
The badge can also look wrong after you already read a message on a paired tablet or through a notification preview, since the app itself still counts the conversation as unread until you interact with it directly.
To clear every unread flag at once without deleting anything, open Open the Messages app ➔ Open the menu ➔ Tap on Mark all as read. This only resets the read status; chat history, attachments and message order stay exactly as they were.
Use this when the backlog is too large to go through chat by chat. If you only want to silence one specific conversation instead of clearing all of them, opening that single chat is the faster option.
Keep in mind that any message arriving after you use Mark all as read will show up as unread again, since the action only applies to messages already received at that point.
