Limit Maximum Hotspot Connections auf Huawei
By default, the personal hotspot on a Huawei phone accepts up to eight simultaneous connections. That default is fine for a shared household, but it also means any device that has the password can join, which slows down speeds for everyone and increases mobile data usage without you noticing right away.
Reducing the maximum allowed connections keeps the hotspot usable for the devices you actually plan to share it with, such as a laptop and a tablet, while blocking extra devices once the limit is reached. This is especially useful on limited data plans, since fewer connected devices generally means less background data traffic from apps updating or syncing.
Where to set the connection limit
Open Settings ➔ Mobile network ➔ Tethering & portable hotspot ➔ Personal hotspot ➔ Configure hotspot. Enable Show advanced options, then tap Max connections allowed. Set the number of devices you want to permit and confirm with OK.
If you later need more devices connected at once, for example when guests visit, just repeat the same path and raise the number again. The setting only limits how many devices can join simultaneously, it does not affect the speed each individual device gets.
