Mistouch prevention on Huawei phones stops the touchscreen from registering unintentional taps. This matters most when the phone sits in a pocket or bag and fabric brushes against the display, potentially triggering calls, app launches, or unwanted text input.
The feature works by ignoring touch signals that do not match the pattern of a deliberate tap, such as continuous pressure from clothing. Once enabled, the screen effectively locks against these random touches without you needing to lock it manually every time.
To turn it on or off, go to Open the settings ➔ Tap on Accessibility features ➔ Tap on Mistouch prevention. From there you can toggle the function according to your preference.
Keep in mind that mistouch prevention can occasionally interfere with legitimate quick actions, like waking the screen through a case cutout or using gloves. If you notice the display becoming unresponsive in situations where you expect it to work, disabling this setting is usually the faster fix compared to troubleshooting the screen itself.
For phones that frequently sit in tight pockets or bags, keeping the feature enabled prevents most accidental pocket dials and app openings. For everyday handheld use, it typically makes no noticeable difference either way.
