Huawei: Move Photos Into an Album

Moving a photo into an album on a Huawei phone works through the Gallery app, not through a separate file manager. The confusion usually starts at the final step, where the app offers both a copy and a move option without explaining the difference.

Copying keeps the original photo in place and adds a second file to the target album. Moving removes the photo from its original location and places it only in the new album, which avoids duplicate files and saves storage space.

To move a photo, open Open the Gallery app ➔ Tap on Albums ➔ Choose an album ➔ Tap on Add ➔ Choose Camera or an album ➔ Select one or more photos ➔ Tap on Save ➔ Choose Copy or Move.

Selecting Move at the last step is the part most people miss, since Copy often sits as the default or first option in the list.

This method works for single photos and for multiple photos selected at once, since the Gallery app lets you tap several thumbnails before confirming the destination album.
