Huawei: Set Number Position in the Number & Symbols Keyboard Layout

Switching to the number and symbol layout on a Huawei keyboard usually puts every digit in one row at the top, mixed in with punctuation. That works for quick typing, but it slows you down when you enter phone numbers, PINs or amounts often. SwiftKey Keyboard lets you swap that row for a numeric keypad instead, aligned to the left or right side of the screen.

Number Position in Number & Symbols Keyboard Layout auf Huawei

By default, the number and symbols layout on SwiftKey Keyboard shows all digits in a single row above the letters. This works fine for occasional typing but gets slow if you regularly enter phone numbers, codes or prices, since your thumb has to travel across the full row for every digit.

EMUI lets you replace that row with a compact numeric keypad, similar to a calculator layout, positioned either on the left or right edge of the keyboard. This is useful for one-handed typing, since the keypad sits closer to your thumb and reduces reach.

How to change it

Open the settingsTap on System & updatesTap on Language & inputTap on SwiftKey KeyboardTap on TypingTap on KeysTap on Number position in number & symbols layoutChoose Top, Left or Right.

Pick Top to keep the original row layout. Pick Left or Right for the numeric keypad, matching whichever hand you type with. If you use a third-party keyboard app instead of SwiftKey, this setting will not apply and you need to check that app's own layout options.
