One-Handed Mode Setup auf Huawei
On phones with large displays, one-handed operation is difficult because top corners and status bar icons sit far from the thumb. Huawei EMUI includes a One-Handed mode inside Accessibility features that shrinks the entire interface into a smaller window you can slide to either side of the screen.
The shrink is triggered by tapping and holding the home button or gesture area and then swiping left or right, but the mode itself must be switched on first. If nothing happens when you try the gesture, the toggle is turned off, or a conflicting gesture setting is blocking it.
To enable or disable it: Open the settings ➔ Tap on Accessibility features ➔ Tap on One-Handed mode ➔ Activate or deactivate One-Handed mode.
Once active, the shrunk window keeps app content readable while leaving one hand fully in control. Side effect: some full-screen apps or games may not scale correctly inside the mini window, so turn the mode off again before running graphics-heavy apps.
If you rely on split-screen or floating windows instead, One-Handed mode is not the right fix, since those features work independently and do not need this toggle.
