Allow or Deny Picture-in-Picture for an App auf Huawei
Picture-in-picture lets an app keep a small floating window open on screen while you use another app underneath it. A typical case is watching a video while replying to a text. Whether this works depends on a permission that EMUI manages separately for every app.
Some apps request picture-in-picture automatically the first time they need it, others stay blocked until you turn the permission on yourself. If a video pauses instead of shrinking into a floating window, or if a floating window never appears at all, the permission for that specific app is usually off.
Where to check the permission
Open Settings ➔ Apps ➔ Apps ➔ open the menu ➔ Special access ➔ Picture-in-picture. Pick the app from the list, then switch Allow picture-in-picture on or off.
Turning the permission off stops the floating window for that app but does not affect anything else the app does in the background, such as playing audio or downloading files. If a floating window still refuses to appear after enabling the permission, check whether battery optimization is limiting that app in the background, since that can block the window even when the permission itself is granted.
