Record a Video with the Camera App auf Huawei
On Huawei phones running EMUI, the Camera app defaults to photo mode every time you open it. This is a deliberate design choice to avoid accidental long recordings, but it means you always need to switch modes manually before filming.
To record a video, open Camera and swipe or tap to switch to Video mode. The shutter icon changes shape once video mode is active, confirming that the app is ready to record instead of taking a still image.
Tap the shutter release to start recording. While filming, the same button area often lets you pause the clip and resume later, so you don't need to stop and merge multiple files manually. Tap the shutter release again to stop the recording completely.
If the app freezes on the pause icon or the shutter does not respond, close the Camera app fully and reopen it. Storage space and available RAM can also affect how reliably video mode starts, so check that you have enough free storage before longer recordings.
