Rename an album in Gallery auf Huawei
Albums in the Gallery app get their name at the moment you create them, but that name is not locked in. Photos and videos inside the album are only linked to it, so renaming changes the label, not the files themselves.
This matters once a library grows: an album named after a one-off trip or a temporary project can quickly become confusing if it is reused for something else. A clear name keeps sorting and searching fast, especially when you rely on albums instead of dates to find content.
Menu path to rename an album
On a Huawei phone with EMUI, open Open the Gallery app ➔ Tap and hold an album ➔ Tap on Rename ➔ Enter a name and tap OK. The change applies instantly and every photo or video inside stays exactly where it was.
This option is not available for system albums such as Camera or Screenshots, since those names are tied to how the phone sorts incoming media automatically. If you need a permanent grouping instead of a renamed folder, creating a new album and moving files into it is the better fix.
There is no side effect on file storage location or metadata: renaming only updates how the album is displayed inside the Gallery app.
