Reset App Preferences auf Huawei
Apps on EMUI rely on a stack of individual settings: whether they are disabled, whether their notifications are blocked, which app opens a file or link by default, and whether they are allowed to run in the background. Once one of these settings gets changed by accident or by an update, an app can stop notifying you, refuse to open, or silently drain battery in the background.
Resetting app preferences does not delete any app, account, photo, or document. It only clears the four areas above and puts every installed app back to its original state: no app stays disabled, no notification channel stays blocked, no default app assignment is kept, and no background restriction remains active.
To reset it, follow this path:
Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Apps ➔ Tap on Apps ➔ Open the menu ➔ Tap on Reset app preferences ➔ Confirm with Reset
After confirming, Android will ask you again which app to use the next time you open a link, share a file, or pick a default handler. If only one specific app misbehaves, it is usually faster to open that app individually under Apps and adjust its permissions or background settings there, instead of resetting every app on the device.
