Restore a Backup from Storage auf Huawei
Restoring a backup on a Huawei phone brings back apps, contacts, messages and media without wiping the device first. EMUI keeps this function separate from the reset process, so you only load the data you actually need.
The backup itself can sit in different places: on an internal memory card, on a connected USB storage device, in a shared network folder, or synced through HiSuite. Because several backups can exist at once, EMUI lets you choose the exact file before anything gets restored.
Where to find the restore option
Go to Open the Settings ➔ Tap on System & updates ➔ Tap on Backup & restore ➔ Tap on Data backup. From there, pick Choose External storage or HiSuite depending on where your backup is stored.
If you selected external storage, EMUI then asks you to confirm the source: Choose Memory card, USB storage or Shared folder. The last step is Choose a backup, where you see all available backup files sorted by date, so you can restore the most recent one or an older version if something went wrong after the last save.
Restoring works best when the backup was created on a similar EMUI version. Very old backups may miss data types that newer apps expect, so check the backup date if something appears incomplete afterward.
