Restore a Deleted Photo from Gallery auf Huawei
Deleting a photo on a Huawei phone does not remove it from storage right away. EMUI moves it into a hidden trash folder inside the Gallery app called Recently deleted, where it stays for 30 days.
During that period the photo counts against your storage but appears nowhere in your albums. Once the 30-day mark passes, the system wipes the file automatically and no recovery through the Gallery is possible anymore.
To bring a photo back before the deadline, follow this path:
Open the Gallery app ➔ Tap on Recently deleted ➔ Choose a recently deleted photo ➔ Tap on Restore
The photo returns to its original album with the same file name and metadata intact. If a video or screenshot went missing instead of a photo, the same folder and the same steps apply, since Recently deleted holds every media type together.
If a photo is missing but never shows up in Recently deleted either, it was likely removed by a cleanup app or deleted more than 30 days ago. In that case, only a backup restore or third-party data recovery tool can help, and success is not guaranteed.
