Huawei: Turn the Screen Lock Tone On or Off

The screen lock tone is a short confirmation click that plays whenever you lock your Huawei phone with the power button. It sits inside a secondary sound menu, which is why many users assume it cannot be turned off at all.

To change it, open Open the settings ➔ Tap on Sound & vibration ➔ Tap on More sound settings ➔ Activate or deactivate Screen lock. The toggle switches the tone on or off immediately, no restart needed.

If your phone is set to Mute or Silent, the screen lock tone stays quiet regardless of this setting. Switch back to a normal or vibrate sound profile first if you expect to hear the click again.

This tone is purely a feedback sound and has no effect on how fast or securely your phone locks. Turning it off does not disable your screen lock method, PIN, or fingerprint unlock in any way.

If you still do not hear anything after enabling it, check your media or notification volume levels separately, since some EMUI versions link this click to the system sound channel rather than the ringtone volume.
