Check for Security Updates Manually auf Huawei
Huawei phones running EMUI notify you automatically when a new security patch is ready to download. That notification can get swiped away, muted, or simply never arrive if your device was offline during the check cycle.
When that happens, your phone keeps running on the last installed patch level until the next scheduled check succeeds. Since security patches close known vulnerabilities, staying on an older patch for too long increases your exposure without any visible warning sign.
You can trigger the check yourself instead of waiting for the system. Open Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Security ➔ Tap on Security update ➔ Tap on Check for updates.
If a new patch is found, the screen shows the download and install option directly. If your device is already current, it confirms that no update is pending.
A stable Wi-Fi connection speeds up the download and avoids interruptions during installation. If the check repeatedly finds nothing despite a known pending patch, a restart or a check of your mobile data and Wi-Fi connection usually resolves it.
