Huawei: Share a Contact as QR Code, vCard or Text

Typing a phone number by hand often creates a typo, and reading a name out loud rarely transfers the full address book entry. Huawei phones offer three separate ways to send a saved contact, and picking the wrong one means the recipient gets an unreadable file or misses details like the company name or a second phone number.

Share Contacts as QR Code, vCard or Text auf Huawei

A saved contact on a Huawei phone holds more than a name and a number. Company, address, birthday and extra phone lines only survive the transfer if you send the whole entry instead of retyping it.

Open Contacts and tap the entry you want to send. Inside the contact, tap More, then Share contact. EMUI now offers three formats: QR code, vCard or Text.

A QR code works best face to face, since the other person scans it with their camera app and the contact loads without any app or internet connection. A vCard is a file (.vcf) that most phones open automatically and import straight into the address book, which makes it the right pick for messaging apps or email. Text sends a plain readable message instead of a file, useful when the recipient's device cannot open a vCard.

If you only need to pass along a single phone number for a quick call, copying that number directly is faster than sharing the full contact. Sharing the complete entry makes sense whenever more than one detail matters, or when the contact will be saved permanently on another phone.

Frequently asked questions

vCard keeps every field, including company, address and multiple phone numbers, since the receiving phone imports the .vcf file directly into its address book.
