Huawei: Share a Website Link from the Browser

Copying a link from the address bar and pasting it into another app just to send a page to a friend takes too many steps and is easy to mess up on a small screen. On Huawei phones, the Browser app has a built-in Share function that skips the copy-paste routine entirely. You pick the messaging, email or social app you want, and the link goes straight there.

Share a Website Link auf Huawei

Copying a URL from the address bar and pasting it into a messaging or email app works, but it is slower than needed and easy to get wrong on a small screen. The Huawei Browser app includes a dedicated Share function that hands the current page link over to any other installed app in one step, without touching the clipboard.

This function reads the address of the page currently open in the active tab and passes it to the target app you choose. It works for any regular web page, but not for content that sits behind a login wall or for files you have downloaded separately.

To use it: open Browser ➔ tap Menu ➔ select Share ➔ choose the app you want to use and follow the on-screen instructions. The list of apps shown depends on which apps installed on your phone support receiving a shared link.

If the app you want is missing from that list, check whether it needs an update or whether link sharing is disabled in its own settings. The share menu itself does not control which apps appear, it only reflects what your phone reports as capable of handling a link.

Frequently asked questions

Some Huawei models show a Share icon directly in the toolbar next to the address bar, but the path that works across all versions is BrowserMenuShare.
