Enable or Disable SIM PIN auf Huawei
Every SIM card ships with its own PIN lock, set by the carrier and stored on the card itself, not on the phone. This is a separate mechanism from the screen lock (pattern, PIN, or password) that protects the device.
Because both systems run independently, a Huawei phone with EMUI can prompt you twice at startup: first for the SIM PIN, then for the screen lock. If that double entry feels redundant, you can turn SIM PIN off, provided you know the current code.
Where to find the setting
The SIM lock toggle sits inside the encryption and credentials area of the security settings: Open the settings ➔ Tap on Security ➔ Tap on More settings ➔ Tap on Encryption and credentials ➔ Tap on Set SIM 1/ SIM 2 lock ➔ Choose SIM 1 or SIM 2 ➔ Activate or deactivate Lock SIM card ➔ Type in your current SIM-PIN and confirm with OK.
On dual-SIM Huawei phones, each SIM slot has its own lock and its own PIN, so repeat the process separately for SIM 1 and SIM 2 if both cards need the change.
Leave SIM PIN active if the phone travels with you or if someone else could swap the card into another device. Disable it only on phones you keep in a controlled environment, since without it, anyone with the physical SIM can move it to another phone and use it without entering a code.
