Enable or Disable Smart Cover Display Window auf Huawei
Huawei phones with EMUI recognize compatible smart covers that have a small cutout window. Once the phone detects the cover, a dedicated Smart cover menu controls what appears through that window.
If the window stays dark after closing the cover, the feature itself is usually turned off, or it is active but the display window sub-option was left disabled. The step counter works independently from the clock display, so you can show one, both, or neither.
To adjust this, go to Open the settings ➔ Tap on Accessibility features ➔ Tap on Smart cover. From there, use Activate or deactivate Smart cover to turn the whole feature on or off.
Once Smart cover is active, use Activate or deactivate Use display window or Show step count to choose whether the time and date appear, whether your step count appears, or both at once.
If your cover has no cutout window at all, this menu has no visible effect since there is no window for the phone to drive. Battery drain from a lit display window is minimal, since the panel behind a smart cover only shows a small always-on style overlay rather than the full screen.
