Enable or Disable Speak Passwords auf Huawei
TalkBack is Huawei's built-in screen reader for accessibility. When it is active, it also reads out every character you enter into a password field, unless the Speak passwords option is switched off.
This setting sits deep inside the accessibility menu, so many people never notice it is turned on. Open Settings ➔ Accessibility features ➔ Accessibility ➔ TalkBack ➔ More settings and look for Speak passwords.
Turn it off if you often type passwords in public places, on public transport, or in a shared office. The toggle stops TalkBack from voicing letters and digits while everything else it announces stays unchanged.
Turn it on again if you rely on audio feedback to confirm each character while entering long or complex passwords, for example when using a physical keyboard or when reading the screen is difficult.
Disabling TalkBack completely is not necessary for this. Speak passwords is an independent switch inside the TalkBack settings, so the rest of the accessibility service keeps working as before.
