Huawei: Change the Calendar Week Start Day

If your Huawei calendar always opens with Sunday as the first column instead of Monday, that setting was locked in during the initial region selection when you set up the phone. You do not need to change the region or reset the device to fix this. The Calendar app has its own setting for this that overrides the regional default.

Set the Calendar Start Day of Week auf Huawei

The Huawei Calendar app picks a default start day for the week based on the region chosen during initial device setup. In many regions this defaults to Sunday, which does not match how most people plan their week starting Monday. Changing the system region afterwards is not a practical fix, since it affects language, date formats, and other settings across the phone.

Instead, the Calendar app has a dedicated setting that overrides the regional default without touching anything else on the device. This only changes how the week grid is displayed inside Calendar; it does not affect any other app or system setting.

Where to change it

Open the Calendar app, then tap the menu icon. Go to Settings, then tap on Week starts on. Choose your preferred start day of week from the list.

The change applies immediately to the week view and month grid. If you use a synced calendar account, this display setting stays local to the app and does not sync to other devices.

Frequently asked questions

No. The Week starts on setting only changes the layout inside the Calendar app. Other apps that show dates or schedules are not affected.
