Turn Stay Connected On or Off When Device Sleeps auf Huawei
EMUI keeps a background data link open through Wi-Fi or mobile data even after the screen turns off, as long as Stay connected when device sleeps is switched on. This is meant to keep messaging apps, calls, and sync services responsive without waking the display, but it also uses more battery and data in the background.
If you notice faster battery drain or higher mobile data usage while the phone sits idle, this setting is a common cause. Turning it off lets the device fully cut the connection when the screen sleeps, which helps standby time but can delay push notifications from some apps until you unlock the phone.
To change it, open Open the settings ➔ Tap on Battery ➔ Tap on More battery settings ➔ Activate or deactivate Stay connected when device sleeps ➔ Confirm with OK.
If notifications still arrive late after enabling the option, check whether the individual app has its own background restriction in the battery app launch settings. That separate control can override this general toggle for specific apps.
