Swipe to Go Forwards/Backwards in Browser auf Huawei
Huawei's Browser app lets you swipe in from the left or right edge of the screen to move between pages, similar to flipping through a photo gallery. This gesture, called Swipe to go forwards/backwards, lives inside the browsing settings and can be turned on or off independently from other navigation options.
When the gesture stays active without you noticing, a regular scroll that starts near the screen edge can accidentally jump you to a previous or next page in your history. That behavior is often mistaken for a glitch, but it is standard EMUI functionality tied to this one setting.
To change it, open Browser app ➤ Open the menu ➤ Open the Settings ➤ Tap on Browsing settings ➤ Enable or disable Swipe to go forwards/backwards. Switching the option off stops unintended page jumps; switching it back on restores the quick swipe navigation.
If swiping still misbehaves after disabling the feature, a third-party browser or a system-wide gesture navigation setting might be overriding it. Those settings sit outside the Browser app and need to be adjusted separately.
