Huawei: Switch Between User Accounts

Managing several user profiles on a Huawei phone gets confusing once you are past the initial setup. Right after creating a new account, the phone asks directly if you want to switch, but that prompt only appears once. After that, many people end up digging through the Settings app every time they just want to swap to another profile.

Switch Between User Accounts auf Huawei

Huawei phones running EMUI support multiple user profiles, each with separate apps, data, and settings. This is useful for shared devices, but switching between profiles is not always obvious once the initial setup prompt is gone.

The fastest way is through the quick settings panel. Pull down from the top of the screen to open it, then tap the User icon and choose the account you want to activate. This works from any screen without opening any app first.

If you prefer a fixed menu location, the same switch is available inside the Settings app. This route takes a few more taps but is easier to remember if you rarely change accounts.

Switching accounts logs out the current profile and loads the selected one with its own home screen, apps, and settings. Any unsaved work in the previous profile stays untouched and reappears once you switch back.

If quick settings does not show a User icon, no additional profiles have been created yet, or the option was hidden during setup. In that case, create a new user first before trying to switch.

Frequently asked questions

This usually means only one user account exists on the device. Create a second profile first, then the User icon shows up automatically the next time you open quick settings.
