Turn App Notifications On or Off auf Huawei
Every app on a Huawei phone gets full notification permissions the first time you install it. That includes banners, sounds, lock screen previews, and app icon badges, all switched on by default in EMUI. If one app feels too loud while another stays quiet, it usually comes down to which notification types that specific app requests and how many of them you leave active.
Messenger apps often split notifications further. WhatsApp, for example, can separate chats, groups, and status updates into their own switches. Turning off only the group toggle keeps direct messages coming through while muting busy group chats.
To adjust this for any app, follow this path:
Open the settings ➔ Tap on Apps ➔ Tap on Apps ➔ Tap on Chrome ➔ Tap on Notifications ➔ Activate or deactivate Allow notifications or choose one of the other Notification types
Replace Chrome with whichever app is causing the issue. If you only want quieter alerts instead of none at all, check the individual notification types before switching off the main toggle, since that disables every alert from the app at once.
If notifications stop working across several apps and not just one, the cause is more likely a system-wide setting such as Do Not Disturb or battery optimization rather than the per-app permission covered here.
