Unrestricted Data Access for Apps auf Huawei
On Huawei phones running EMUI, mobile data for individual apps can be throttled or paused in the background to save data or battery. This affects messaging apps, mail clients, and cloud sync tools the most, since they often stop refreshing until you open them manually or reconnect to Wi-Fi.
Unrestricted data access tells the system to skip these limits for a specific app. The app can then use mobile data at any time, including in the background and while battery saving is active.
To change this setting, go to Open the settings ➔ Tap on Apps ➔ Tap on Apps ➔ Open the menu ➔ Tap on Special access ➔ Tap on Unrestricted data access ➔ Activate or deactivate unrestricted data access.
Turn this on only for apps you actually need to run in real time, such as messengers or navigation tools. Enabling it broadly increases mobile data usage and can drain the battery faster, since the app is no longer paused when the screen is off.
If your real issue is delayed notifications rather than data usage, check the app's battery permissions first. Unrestricted data access solves data-blocking, not battery-based app suspension.
