Enable or Disable WiFi and Bluetooth Location Scanning auf Huawei
Huawei phones running EMUI use WiFi and Bluetooth signals to refine location accuracy, even when GPS alone would be too imprecise or slow to lock on. The phone scans for nearby networks and Bluetooth devices in the background and compares them against a location database, which speeds up positioning indoors or between tall buildings.
This convenience comes at a cost. Constant scanning uses extra battery and keeps your WiFi/Bluetooth radios active more often than expected, even when both connections are switched off in the quick settings panel. Some users also prefer to limit this behavior for privacy reasons, since nearby networks and devices are logged as part of the location calculation.
You can control WiFi scanning and Bluetooth scanning independently. Disabling only one keeps the other contributing to location accuracy, which is useful if you want to reduce Bluetooth-based tracking but still benefit from faster WiFi-based positioning indoors.
Menu path
Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Location ➔ Tap on Advanced settings ➔ Enable or disable Wi-Fi-and/orBluetooth-scanning
If apps like maps or navigation lose accuracy after disabling both options, GPS alone is likely too weak in your current location, and this setting is worth re-enabling only where needed.
