Enable or Disable Adaptive Brightness auf OnePlus
Adaptive brightness is a system function in OxygenOS that measures ambient light through the front sensor and adjusts the screen brightness automatically. It works alongside the manual brightness slider, but once enabled, it can override your preferred level whenever the lighting around you changes.
This is why the display sometimes feels too bright in a dark room or too dim outdoors, even right after you set it manually. The phone is not malfunctioning; it is reacting to sensor input and slowly learning your preferences over time.
To change this behavior, open Settings ➔ Display ➔ Adaptive brightness and toggle the option on or off.
Turning it off keeps the brightness exactly where you set it, which is useful if you often switch between very different lighting conditions and want predictable results. Turning it on is more convenient for everyday use, since you rarely need to touch the slider yourself.
Keep in mind that disabling adaptive brightness can increase battery drain in bright environments, since the screen may stay brighter than necessary. If the sensor is dirty or partially covered by a case, adaptive brightness may also react incorrectly, so check the sensor area before assuming a software issue.
