Add apps to a home screen folder auf OnePlus
OnePlus phones running Oxygenos do not sort apps into folders on their own. Every icon stays on the home screen until you move it yourself, which is why screens fill up quickly after installing several apps.
Folders solve this by grouping related apps under one icon, freeing up space and making navigation faster.
How to move an app into a folder
Press and hold the app icon you want to move. Keep holding until the icon lifts slightly, then drag it directly onto the folder you want to use.
The Menüpfad is: Tap and hold an app ➔ Drag the app onto the folder ➔ Release the app.
Once the folder opens automatically during the drag, position the app where you want it inside the folder grid, then lift your finger to drop it.
When this does not work
If the app snaps back to the home screen instead of entering the folder, you likely released too early, before the folder actually opened. Try again and wait for the folder preview to expand before letting go.
If you want to create a brand new folder instead of using an existing one, drag one app icon directly onto another app icon. That action builds a new folder automatically, which you can rename afterward.
This method works the same for apps on any home screen page, so you do not need to move icons to the same screen first.
