OnePlus: Add a New User Account

If you share your OnePlus phone with a family member or colleague, mixing personal apps, messages and login data quickly becomes a hassle. A separate user profile keeps each person's home screen, apps and app data apart, while things like Wi-Fi settings still stay shared across the device.

Add a Second User Account auf OnePlus

Adding a user account on a OnePlus phone creates a separate space with its own home screen, apps and app data. This is useful when a family member, partner or colleague regularly uses the same device and needs their own login, messages and installed apps kept apart from yours.

Not every setting is isolated per user. Network connections such as Wi-Fi, as well as some system-wide options, apply to the whole device regardless of who is signed in. Only the app data, accounts and personalization inside each profile stay separate.

To create a new profile, open SettingsSystemMultiple usersAdd user ➔ confirm with OK. The new profile appears on the lock screen and quick settings panel, so switching between users takes a few taps without restarting the phone.

If you only need to lend your phone briefly, a guest profile is usually the faster option since it resets automatically and does not require setting up separate accounts. Use a full user account instead when the other person needs long-term, personal use of apps, storage and settings on the same device.

As the device owner, you keep administrator control and can remove other user profiles later from the same Multiple users menu.

Frequently asked questions
