Add Widgets to the Home Screen auf OnePlus
OnePlus home screens run on the OxygenOS launcher, and widgets live in a separate picker that most people never open because it hides behind a long-press gesture, not a menu.
Without enough free space on the current page, the launcher refuses to drop a widget and snaps it straight back into the widget tray instead.
Open the picker with Tap and hold a free area on home screen ➔ Tap on Widgets. This opens a scrollable list sorted by app, showing weather, calendar, notes and messenger widgets as size previews.
Use Tap and hold the desired widget ➔ Place the widget at the desired position and release it to drop it. If the target spot already holds an icon, OxygenOS shifts it aside automatically, but only if the current page has room; otherwise switch to an empty page first.
Some widgets only fill with data once the linked app is installed and signed in, for example calendar or messenger widgets. If a widget stays empty or grey after placing it, check the app itself instead of repeating the placement steps.
