Add an App Shortcut to the Home Screen auf OnePlus
On OnePlus phones running Oxygenos, the app drawer keeps every installed app in one scrollable overview, separate from the home screen. That is convenient for a clean layout, but it means apps you use often are never just one tap away unless you place them there yourself.
Adding a shortcut does not move or remove the app from the drawer. It only creates a second, direct icon on the home screen, so the app still appears in both places afterward.
The verified path is: Swipe a free area on home screen ➔ Tap and hold an app ➔ Drag the app icon upwards ➔ Release the app icon to position it. Holding the app first opens the drag mode, and dragging it up moves it out of the drawer view onto the home screen layer underneath.
If you drop the icon on an existing app instead of empty space, Oxygenos may create a folder instead of placing a standalone shortcut. Release the icon over a free spot to avoid that.
If your home screen is already full, no free area is available and the icon snaps back to the drawer. Free up a spot on an existing page or swipe to another page first.
