OnePlus: Turn Off Gmail Event Sync in Calendar

Booking a flight or a restaurant table on your OnePlus phone can suddenly add an extra appointment to your Calendar app that you never created manually. This happens because Gmail automatically forwards detected reservations and bookings as calendar events for every linked Google account. If you only want your own manually added appointments to show up, that automatic sync needs to be turned off.

Disable Gmail Event Sync in Calendar auf OnePlus

On OnePlus phones running OxygenOS, the Calendar app can automatically pull in appointments detected in your Gmail inbox. Flight confirmations, hotel bookings, and restaurant reservations are scanned and added as calendar entries without any manual input.

This behavior comes from the Events from Gmail setting inside the Calendar app itself, separate from general account sync settings in the system. It applies per linked Google account, so you can leave it enabled on one account while disabling it on another.

To change it, open Open the Calendar appOpen the menuOpen the SettingsTap on Events from Gmail. From there, select the account you want to adjust and use Enable or disable Events from Gmail to toggle the behavior. Confirm the change with Tap on Continue.

Disabling this option only stops future automatic entries. Events already added to your calendar from past bookings stay in place until you delete them manually.

If your calendar still shows unwanted entries after disabling the setting, check whether the same Google account is also linked in a separate email or calendar app on your phone, since some third-party apps run their own independent sync.

Frequently asked questions

No. Turning off Events from Gmail only stops new automatic entries. Existing events stay in your calendar until you remove them manually.
