OnePlus: Disable the Lock Screen Password

The lock screen passcode on OnePlus phones is tied to the Security & lock screen settings and works together with fingerprint or face unlock. Both biometric methods store their data only as long as a pattern, PIN or password is set as the primary unlock method. Removing that primary method automatically clears fingerprint and face data, since Android treats biometrics as a shortcut for the underlying passcode, not a replacement.

To turn off the request, open Settings ➔ Security & lock screen ➔ Lockscreen passcode. Enter your current pattern, PIN or password when prompted, then choose None and confirm with Yes, remove. After this the phone wakes directly to the home screen without any authentication step.

Skip this change if you use mobile banking, work profiles or apps that rely on device encryption tied to a passcode; some of them stop functioning without an active lock screen. A safer middle ground is switching to a swipe-only unlock if your version of OxygenOS offers it, which keeps a minimal gesture without a passcode. Re-enabling protection later means setting up the passcode and biometrics again from scratch.
