Turn Emergency Alerts On or Off auf OnePlus
OnePlus phones ship with emergency alerts enabled by default. This includes AMBER Alerts for child abductions, extreme threat warnings, and severe threat warnings issued by local authorities. These messages arrive through the carrier network, separate from regular push notifications, which is why they cannot be blocked through a normal app notification switch.
Each alert category has its own toggle inside the system settings. You can leave extreme and severe threat warnings active while switching off AMBER Alerts, or the other way around, depending on what is relevant to you.
To adjust the settings:
Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Apps & notifications ➔ Tap on Emergency alerts ➔ Enable or disable the desired option
Inside the same menu, you can also set a dedicated ringtone and decide whether the phone vibrates when an alert arrives. This is useful in quiet environments where a loud siren-style tone is disruptive, but you still want a silent notification.
Turning off all alert types is possible, but not recommended in regions prone to severe weather or public safety incidents, since these messages often arrive faster than app-based news alerts.
