OnePlus: Forget a Saved Wi-Fi Network

If a OnePlus phone keeps connecting to a Wi-Fi network with no internet or repeatedly drops the connection, the stored network profile is often the cause. An outdated password or a corrupted saved entry can block a fresh connection attempt. Removing the saved network forces the phone to treat it as new the next time you connect.

Forget a Wi-Fi Network on OnePlus auf OnePlus

When a OnePlus phone connects to a Wi-Fi network but gets no internet, or keeps reconnecting to a network with an outdated password, the saved network profile is usually the reason. Android stores every network you have joined together with its password and connection settings. If that stored data is wrong or damaged, the phone tries to reuse it instead of asking for fresh credentials.

Removing the saved entry clears this stored profile completely. The next time you select the network, your phone treats it as unknown and asks for the password again.

To forget a network, open SettingsWi-Fi & networkWi-FiSaved networks. Tap the network causing trouble, then tap Forget.

This removes only the local copy on your phone. Other devices connected to the same router keep their own saved settings and are not affected.

If the problem is actually caused by the router itself, for example after a firmware update or an IP conflict, forgetting the network on your phone will not fix it. In that case, restarting the router or checking its settings is the better first step.

After forgetting a network, your phone stops auto-connecting to it until you manually rejoin and enter the password once more.

Frequently asked questions

No. Forgetting a network under Saved networks only removes the stored profile on that OnePlus phone. Other phones, tablets, or laptops connected to the same router keep their own saved password and settings.
